6. Create a romantic ambiance
7. Have fun
The bedroom is our sanctuary, we spend a serious amount of time in this space. It is not only where we seek respite but also the stage for the romance in our home.
There are a few key elements that will either make or break the romance in this space. Does your current bedroom situation have you feeling less than inspired? Here are 7 tips to help you pump the passion back into your boudoir.
1. The Romantic Bed
2. Set the Valentine's Day Mood
Murals are a fantastic way to set the tone of your space, and we are not just saying this because we are mural people. A good mural can really create and transform even the dullest room into your own romantic little haven. We think that the Delightfully Dainty mural is the perfect floral mural to inspire passion in your boudoir because its black and white floral pattern can easily be complemented with pops of pink or red.
3. Romantic Bedroom Lighting
Lighting can make or break the mood, so turn off that overhead light and opt for a soft warm glow. Flameless candles are a gray way to go, they give off that wam subtle glow and bonus points, they are hazard free! We love these romantic candles from Art-z-gal's Interiors.
4. Indulge the Senses
Sometimes we tend to overlook other sensory experiences when it comes to thinking about romantic bedroom décor.
However, desire is indeed a sensory experience, channel the passion by introducing a soft fragrance to your environment. A light pillow mist or a small spritz of perfume can really help create that sultry ambiance. Just be careful to not go too heavy on the scent. The space should be calming, not overwhelming. Our favorite is the Lavender Pillow Mist by Strom Spa.
5. Eliminate Distractions
A sure fire way to wreck the mood is clutter! Make sure your space is tidy and that there is nothing laying around that might pull your thoughts to your to do’s. (no laundry, no children's toys, no TV). Sometimes we tend to forget how often these little household chores get rent-free space in the backs of our minds but we promise you that eliminating these tedious chores ultimately makes room for more romantic connections.
6. Ambiance
Sometimes it's hard to shut out our busy lives and focus on the moment. It can be helpful to purposefully set the stage for romance. Gentle ambient music can really go a long way! Now I may not recommend loud heavy metal music (unless that's your thing), but this is all about you; choose the tunes that feel right for a romantic cozy space.
7. Have Fun!
Let your imagination run wild! This is your romantic bedroom and in order to feel the most confident and comfortable it should speak to you! Customize it with accessories that make you feel happy. Accessories are an easy way to switch up your décor. Especially around Valentine's Day, you can never have too many candles or flowers. We adore this cozy textured throw from SullyandCo Handmade in shy blush. Single, coupled, or with littles have fun, cuddle up and Happy Valentine's Day!
